Eduventures Learning Collaboratives

Welcome to Eduventures Learning Collaboratives (LCs), our member-based research consortiums designed to help their memberships identify best management practices, benchmark performance, and improve the functioning of core processes across higher education. There are currently seven Eduventures Learning Collaboratives including Continuing and Professional Education, Development, Enrollment Management, Online Higher Education, Schools of Education, Student Affairs, and Summer Sessions. Each Collaborative is based on a continuum of services that includes multiple Collaborative Research studies, highly structured Campus Visits, access to our extraordinary group of industry analysts for specific inquiries and analysis, and various opportunities to connect with fellow professionals through annual Collaborative meetings, roundtables, and conferences.

The Value of Collaborative Membership

circle_graphicColleges and universities are striving to increase their own academic and operational excellence, and competition for recruiting and retaining students is strong. Eduventures has always believed, however, that institutions will meet their goals not by going at it alone, but by sharing their experiences and best practices for the common good. We believe that collaboration is integral to the educational process and will improve education overall. More than 300 doctoral, master’s, and baccalaureate institutions seem to agree. Member institutions enjoy the following benefits of a Learning Collaborative membership:

Cost-Effective Research: Eduventures’ research model identifies and jointly underwrites collaborative research of interest to the overall LC membership, making the most out of the shared-cost investment.

A Community of Learning: Membership gives institutions the opportunity for structured, analytical comparisons and information sharing of each research study among the membership and Eduventures’ industry experts.

Expert Resources: Membership gives institutions access to Eduventures’ team of dedicated analysts and researchers as an informational resource. They work with members to standardize, collect, and analyze market research and benchmark data.

How It All Works

Eduventures Learning Collaboratives are a continuum-of-service membership model offering collective and individualized opportunities to make the most of shared, collaborative data. Within each program, opportunities exist to explore or further analyze specific topics or issues uncovered in the research, potentially leading to the implementation of data-driven solutions.

Research Methodology

With such a focus on data-driven analysis and implementation, Eduventures has developed stringent best practices for the application and execution of research programs. Every form of research methodology is considered within the context of the prescribed research program. Tele-research, online and paper surveys, e-conferences, as well as qualitative research methods such as focus groups and interviews are considered for use.

Getting Started

When a new member joins a Learning Collaborative, Eduventures’ staff works closely with the member institution to help it navigate the wealth of research activities and LC events in progress and to encourage optimal use of the resources available. The first activity is an onboarding session, which includes advice and counsel on the scope and details of membership. New members also receive a how-to guide for accessing data, reports, and analysts and for connecting with fellow members, and a brief overview of the annual calendar for scheduling and participation purposes.
